What should you do if you breakdown?
You should always be prepared incase of a Breakdown. Carry a mobile phone or some loose change and the number of a recovery company or your Breakdown Insurance Details. If you do suffer the misfortune of a breakdown the following tips should help you.
- Try to pull off the road and park in a safe, well lit place.
- Make sure you use your hazard warning lights.
- Place a warning triangle on the road at least 45 metres (147 feet) behind your broken down vehicle on the same side of the road as your car. Don't use a warning triangle on the Motorway.
- Keep your sidelights on if the visibility is poor or if it is dark.
- Lock the doors and call for help from your mobile phone or from a payphone.
